David Maraghy, Esq., serves as an adjunct faculty member at the Center for Sport Leadership, as well as a sports attorney with more than 20 years experience. A 1974 graduate of Williams College and a 1977 graduate of the Wake Forest University School of Law, Maraghy began his sports career as chairman of the 1986 PGA Greater Greensboro Open.
Today, he is the CEO of Sports Management International, LLC, a Richmond-based sport management firm that specializes in the golf industry. SMI’s clients include PGA star John Rollins — top 25 on the 2007 money list — and Daniel Chopra, winner of the Mercedes Championships. Corporate clients include the Kiawah Island Resort (Ryder Cup), two World Cups and the PGA Tour Henrico County Open.
