Mike Burch teaches classes in sales, business and sport marketing, and also serves as director of business development at Speedway Motorsports Inc. Burch received his B.S. in Economics at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and his M.S. in Sport Management from Georgia Southern University. Prior to SMI, Smith worked as the vice president of marketing for the Charlotte Hornets (NBA) and Charlotte Sting (WNBA), where he was responsible for developing the brands — including the marketing of seating plans and corporate partnerships. Prior to joining the Hornets, Burch spent six seasons with the Houston Rockets (NBA) and Houston Comets (WNBA), including winning the 1995 NBA Championship and the 1997, ’98, and ’99 WNBA Championships.
